ATMOS Software is a small company based in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It was set up with the goal of producing electronic entertainment products for Apple Macintosh computers. It's first release, Redux, was a not-for-profit set of network gaming maps for the classic Macintosh game, Marathon Infinity.
ATMOS was then contracted to Ambrosia Software Inc. to create the scenario (graphics, text, plotline, universe, sounds & animations) for the next title in the very popular Escape Velocity series. Escape Velocity Nova has garnered critical acclaim and has since been ported to the Windows platform, a rare occurrance in the Macintosh gaming world.
Since the release of Nova, the members of ATMOS have all been working on individual projects, or taking a much-needed break. The comany now exists as a holding entity, and as a vehicle for whatever projects the individual stakeholders may wish to use the name for.
Dave Williams, Phil Chick, Steve Chick and Scott Vardy recently helped out Peter Craddock on the ARPIA2 project, which has been eagerly awaited by the Nova community.
